the first half of 2008 nears its end. Time for us to look back to what happened on Alor during those 6 months.

In April, a new hotel has opened its doors to customers. The Nufitra Hotel is located in a beautiful and quiet place at Kalabahi Bay. The hotel staff welcomes you to stay in the clean and large rooms that are equipped with TV, fridge and, depending on the room category, with AC, hot water and a bath tub. With prices ranging from 7 to 14 EUR per night, all including a breakfast that is unsurpassed on Alor, the Nufitra Hotel may even be considered a role model for the Alor region. In Feburary the team of ALOR DIVE welcomed our first handicapped diver in a wheel chair. Alberto, a well experienced diver and traveller was so impressed by the underwater realm and the service he received on Alor and with ALOR DIVE that he wishes to come back to Alor soon. Elizabeth, George and Andy have been another premiere for us at ALOR DIVE. In May they have been the first rebreather divers we could welcome on Alor. As you can read in their guest book entry, they, as well, have been very pleased with Alor and ALOR DIVE and wish to come back again assoon as possible.

Divers who are a little bit more interested in the underwater realm should keep the days between November 15th and November 20th in mind. Uli Erfurth, under his nick-name "Bio-Uli" a known expert in Biology to the members of the http://www.taucher.net community (one of the most popular dive related websites in the German speaking area) will conduct his course "Was lebt im Korallenriff" (What's living in the coral reef) at ALOR DIVE. Unfortunately this course will be held in German only.
